Figueirense/ PREC conquers the tri championship at Rome’s World Club Championship
Being the main star from Brazil’s football 7 scene, Figueirense/Paula Ramos marked it’s name once again in the modality’s history. This time the accomplishment was done in Rome, Italy, where the World Club Championship was held. After facing off teams from Russia, Brazil and Italy in exciting games, the team conquered the tri championship.
The girls from Figueirense arrived in Rome as favorites ahving been champions for the last two editions. During rhe group phase the team passed to the next eound first in its group after winning againt the Russian teams. For sem finals the adversary was a very well known team for them. According to the competition’s rules, teams from the same country must face off before rhe final and for this reason União Ribeirão was the opponent.
After a very disputed game, Figueirense won against União Ribeirão 3-1 and went on to the grand final. The dispute for the first place would be against Lazio, the home teamS at a very exciting game, the teams had a draw 1-1 during regular time and at the shoot-out decision, the Brazilian team had the best outcome and conquered the tri Championship.
