Porto Alegre will host the League of the Americas in December
The International Football Federation 7, following all the recommendations of the World Health Organization, decided to transfer the League of the Americas to the 4th, 5th and 6th of December. Initially scheduled for July, the competition will be held in Porto Alegre (Brazil) and will have the largest teams from South American countries.
The 2020 edition will feature the categories of children (under-09, under-11, under-13 and under-15), adult (male and female) and master (male). The event will feature the champions of each country, plus Brazilian teams accredited to participate. The champion will represent the continent at the 2021 Club World Cup in Moscow, Russia.
The League of the Americas is the biggest club competition in South America and gives place to the FIF7 Club World Cup. The last edition of the tournament was played in Montevideo, Uruguay, with the Brazilian teams from Coritiba (men) and União Ribeirão (women) being the current champions. As a prize, the two teams went to Rome, Italy, to play in the Club World Cup.
